The hype is real deal - we stopped in for Saturday buffet for our 1st time, and the Butter Chicken / Fish curry/ Tandoori chicken were to _die for_! My homie & I are former Mantra/ Castro street devotees, but absolute new converts for SANKRANTI. Venue is a no-frills ambiance, but boasts much better Pricing, easy strip-mall parking, with plenty of building space. You're not sitting in the laps of the table next doors- plenty of privacy to enjoy your food & convo. Proprietor super nice too. I'm quite literally gonna put my Money where my Mouth is, and vote Sankranti next time, every time, going forwards! Count how many Yelp reviews I've left in the past decade. Yeah, it was _THAT_ memorable. Love.
We ordered catering from Sankranti for an event at Stanford, and everything was fantastic. Great communication, timely delivery, and most importantly delicious food. The students loved it!
Fantastic place in Sunnyvale. Super well known for their biryani and it did not disappoint! We tried the Vijayawada chicken biryani and the Chicken 65 appetizer. These were recommended to us by the knowledgeable staff as the less spicy / medium spicy options. The food came out piping hot and was definitely made fresh for us. We personally loved both items and will definitely be back to try other dishes too. The biryani comes with a yogurt raita, which really enhances the dish. The spices are just right and really flavorful. I highly recommend! The ambiance is pretty basic. You aren't really coming for the ambiance. You're coming for the food! Each table has 2-4 stainless steel glasses as drinking cups. To go boxes are available on a table next to the water dispenser. Very easily accessible for leftovers. Overall we loved the food. Definitely check it out. We plan to order takeout next time!
Service was excellent. Loved the free chai. They have a great selection of dishes which were really tasty. Just found my new go-to for Indian buffet in the South Bay!!
Just had their fri/sat/sun lunch buffet and it was delicious. So many options both vegetarian and non. Service was elite with someone coming by frequently with fresh naan!

Ordered Biriyani for my family new years dinner. My experience in ordering over the phone was simple and straightforward. The food was ready on time for pickup, and family loved their Biriyani fix! The food itself was spicy, though i felt the meat was a bit dry. Likely expected of the style of Andhra style cooking. Family loved it - so all is well that ends well.
The food was so delicious and excited to go back and try the rest of the menu! The service was quick and there weren't too many people that day. The vibe is very much a no-frills Indian restaurant but the owner was super nice to us and we will definitely be back. We ordered the chicken dum biryani and the gongura pappu. I was absolutely floored by the gongura pappu which I didn't expect out of a vegetarian dish. It had the perfect level of heat and acidity. If you can't handle spice then this dish may not be for you. The biryani was also very good and made dum-style. 10/10 would recommend!
